Q: I get "A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine." when install RayFire.

A: This is just a warning, skipt it, it doesn' affect anyhow to installation, everything is already installed.

Q: I can't update my tool via About / Check for updates.

A: All major releases, 1.xx, have to be downloaded and installed manually, there are too much changes to update it online. Automatic update works only for minor builds, like 1.60.xx.

Q: I get an error "Unable to convert: undefined to type: FileName".

A: Make sure you have installed RayFire plugin in Max Root folder: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max. Not in Plugins folder. If you already installed it in Plugins folder, uninstall it via Add\Remove Programs to be sure that you uninstalled all files and install in max root folder.

Q: I just purchased license but didn't get any email about how to get Full version.

A: After purchase during one working day (24 hours) you will receive e-mail with login info for customer area where you will be able to download latest full version of plugin. If after 24 hours you still didn't get any email, please contact with me via phone or email, in email write your phone number and another email address. Probably your spam filter do not pass emails from me.

Q: I am getting warning, error, freeze and crash.

A: First of all, make sure you have latest build available. Probably problem you have was already reported and fixed. Check out website and your customer account for latest major release (1.xx). All new minor builds (1.57.xx) can be updated via About \ Check for Updates menu.

Q: When I launch RayFire all tabs are minimized, even if I click on Tabs buttons.

A: Shut down Max, go to Max Root folder and delete RayFireSettings.ini file. Probably it contains obsolete UI settings from older RayFire version.

Q: I don't see latest major release in my customer area.

A: Make sure latest release is free for you. If it is, and you don't see it in you account, please, contact with me and I will add it for you.

Q: I can't authorize my license. Serial ID window do not accept my serial ID.

A: Probably you installed Demo version. It is impossible to authorize Demo version using Serial ID. Make sure you downloaded Full version from your customer account.

Q: Every time when I try to use Interactive Demolition feature, checkbox always turn off.

A: Interactive Demolition feature works only in Bake mode - Simulation button with Circle and Arrow. It doesn't work in Preview mode - button only with Arrow.

Q: WHich PhysX plugin version I need for 3ds max 2013?

A: 3ds Max 2013 has MassFx which is supported by RayFire starting from version1.58, so you don't need to install PhysX plugin.

Q: How can I get PhysX plugin?

A: At PhysX.info you can find full guide about how to get acces to latest PhysX plugin.

Q: I get an error when I start simulation.

A: Make sure you have installed PhysX plugin version which is supported by RayFire version you have. It is better to use PhysX 2.71 or 2.86.00806 with RayFire 1.58.05. Check out Installation section in Online Help.

Q: When I start simulation I get "--NO "">="" function for undefined" error.

A: This might happen if RayFire version you have doesn't support PhysX plugin you have. Make sure you have latest RayFire build available. You can check for latest minor build via About \ Check for updates menu.

Q: I try to install the PhysX plugin over 3ds Max Design, but I get an error telling Max isn't installed.

A: Check out Installation section in Online Help for solution.
